Satimage systems use a public digital video protocol, IEEE 1394 (also known as FireWire), in non compressed mode.

FireWire enables us to rapidly generate high quailty, high resolution digital images. No more interference, static or distortion - just like the digital sound in the audio world. Pictures are much more accurate.

Satimage systems work with all FireWire video cameras: standard cameras, high-definition cameras or high-speed cameras.

FireWire provides direct digital control of the camera. Software can drive the camera and change settings on the fly. The settings are digital, thus very accurate.

FireWire is a standard protocol that is widely adopted and is being continuously developed. Using FireWire means that your Satimage system will have a long service life, and you will easily be able to find system components. unlike other systems, Satimage systems never include proprietary electronics.
